   Planning for the Bride And Groom

   Twelve to eighteen months prior:

  1. Set date and pick out engagement ring.
  2. Discuss wedding budget with parents, plan color scheme and style.
  3. Discuss plans with clergy member or judge.
  4. Reserve ceremony and reception locations.
  5. Select photographer.
  6. Select and book your DiscJockey Service.
  7. Select and book your Videography Service.
  8. Book limousine service.

   Six to twelve months prior:

  1. Select and book your florist.
  2. Purchase wedding planner and memory album.
  3. Initial choice of attendants and ushers.
  4. Order wedding gown/dress and accessories.
  5. Discuss honeymoon plans and select travel agent.
  6. Register for china, flatware, etc.
  7. Begin making guest list.

   Three to six months prior:

  1. Shop for Bride's Trousseau.
  2. Set date to order attendants' dresses
  3. Order wedding attire for groom, best man, ushers.
  4. Complete guest list.
  5. Order invitations, Announcements, and Thank You Notes.
  6. Confirm delivery date for bridal party gowns/dresses.
  7. Order wedding rings/engraving.
  8. Make living arrangements.
  9. Secure honeymoon plans, airline tickets, and resort reservations.
  10. Contact organist, soloist; choose songs for ceremony.

   Six weeks to three months prior:

  1. Mail invitations (post office for Love stamps).
  2. Plan rehearsal dinner (time of ceremony rehearsal and dinner).
  3. Arrange lodging for out-of-town guests.
  4. Groom purchases Bride's wedding gift.
  5. Bride purchases Groom's wedding gift.
  6. Purchase Bridal Party gifts.
  7. Final fittings for Bride and bridal party.
  8. Professional portrait for display at reception.
  9. Pick up wedding rings; check engraving.
  10. Remember to send "shower" thank you notes.
  11. Send announcement to newspapers.
  12. Make name changes on license, bank accounts, and social security card.
  13. Check legal, medical, and religious documents.
  14. Make salon appointments for bridal party.
  15. Order wedding cake.

   Two to three weeks prior:

  1. Get marriage license.
  2. Double check transportation for bride/groom and bridal party after ceremony.
  3. Final consult to review reception information with Disc Jockey.
  4. Final consult to review ceremony and reception information with Videography Service.
  5. Finalize details with photographer.
  6. Plan seating plan.
  7. Give or attend bridesmaids party (bride) - bachelor party (groom).

   One to two weeks prior:

  1. Purchase travelers' checks.
  2. Begin packing for honeymoon.
  3. Finalize number of guests attending reception.
  4. Finalize details with Florist.
  5. Remind Bridal party of rehearsal times/location.
  6. Put clergy/judge fees in envelope.
  7. During rehearsal dinner, hand out Bridal party gifts.
